Warping Board with Red and Black Wool

PictureMail, originally uploaded by Mr. Tatiana.

Here is the next project! Measuring out threads off of two cones of cashmere to make big blankets! The warping board works like this: the frame is one yard wide, so as I zig-zag between the pegs it adds up to a 13-yard long warp, in this case. Do that 400 times (with two threads at once) and you have an 80″ wide, 36 foot long  blanket, at 10 ends per inch! Then I’ll cut it into four nine foot long blankets.

questions, comments? stripe width suggestions?
